BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Berkeley
Ed has thirty years of management experience in the design, development, and manufacturing of consumer and industrial products. Most recently Ed was Vice President of Engineering for Antenna International (Norwalk, CT), world leader in handheld devices that give audio tours to 60 million visitors annually at 1200 cultural sites. Like solar panels, these devices lie at the intersection between design and manufacturing: do they perform properly while being inexpensive to manufacture.
Prior to Antenna, Ed worked seven years at Flextronics International, one of the world's largest contract manufacturers. While at Flextronics, he was responsible for OEM design and product transfer from development to manufacturing. Under Ed’s guidance several notable products were developed including Bill Gate’s Microsoft Tablet PC and Paul Allen’s FlipStart hand-held computer.
Before Flextronics, Ed was VP of Engineering and co-founder of CMC Technologies and Director of Engineering at Infant Advantage Inc., Embedded Performance Inc., and Cochlea Corporation. Ed began his career as a Senior Design Engineer at Data General Corporation. He holds nine patents.
