Doug Turner worked 15 years as a manufacturing expert for Flextronics, one of the world’s largest contract manufacturer. He has over 20 years of managing product design and tooling for manufacturing, the last 5 years as Global DFMA Lead for Flextronics accounts such as Sony and Microsoft. He now consults for LodeStar Enterprises Group and Unique-Skill Precision, both of Loveland, CO.
Turner's background covers many aspects of manufacturing both in product design and management. He has a proven expertise in inventing, electro-mechanical engineering, development, tooling design, industrialization, lean manufacturing, and production launches of consumer electronic products including MP3/4 players, cell phones, set-top boxes, cameras, phone accessories, PC peripherals, personal navigation systems, infotainment systems, gaming consoles and accessories, as well as whitegoods, automotive, industrial, and medical products.
Turner has held various senior management positions at Flextronics Design Center, Flextronics Automotive, Flextronics Consumer Digital, Flextronics Mobile and Vista Point Technologies, Flex’s China camera module development and manufacturing unit. At Flextronics Automotive, he was responsible for the design and manufacturing of GM analog/digital clocks and dashboard components in China for Cadillac, Buick and Hummer, a $70 MM contract. Turner has also founded two Silicon Valley startups in voice recognition, one of which did a $22 MM IPO.
